The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award
Inspire Enrichment is proud to be a DofE Award Licensed Organisation. Any young person aged 13+ who is registered as a participant of an Inspire Enrichment session will be offered the opportunity to enrol to do a DofE Award. We also provide activities for young people who have already enrolled via their school.
Full support in the selection of activities and assisting students in the completion of their online eDofE accounts is included.
The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE Award) is a worldwide youth achievement award that challenges young people aged 13-24 to develop skills, overcome challenges, and build confidence through a variety of activities. It's a non-competitive, flexible programme offered at three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Participants engage in Volunteering, Physical and Skill activities, either individually or within a small group. They also join with others to complete an expedition. A Residential experience is added at Gold Award level.
There is a huge range of activities that participants can choose to complete for their Physical and Skill sections. Many of the activities that Inspire Enrichment already offer fit perfectly within a DofE Award programme – for example our Young Creatives, Capture & Edit, Jam sessions and Arts Awards sessions fit into the Skill section, while our Dance or Stretch & Reflect sessions fit into the Physical section. Participants have the choice to complete their DofE Award activities with the Inspire Enrichment team, or they can find an activity independently or complete it at home. We can also set up bespoke activities as required.
The Volunteering section provides our young people with opportunities to engage with their communities, to campaign for an issue or support a charity they care about. For many young people, this can be their first experience of dealing with the public or helping out in an environment that feels like a workplace and can therefore be a positive, or even life changing experience. We work with participants to develop or source their choice of Volunteering activity, either individually or as part of a small group.
The Expedition section provides young people with an opportunity gain confidence and a love of the outdoors, working in a small group to learn the skills needed to complete a two-day expedition. Comprehensive and appropriate training in teamworking, navigation and route planning will be given by qualified Inspire Enrichment instructors. The final expedition involves a fun project, an interesting and picturesque route in the countryside and the opportunity to camp overnight if they would like.
