The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

Hunt Scholars is proud to be able to offer our students in Year 9 and above the opportunity to enrol and complete all levels of the DofE Award.  We can also provide activities and support for young people who have already enrolled via their school.

The Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE Award) is a worldwide youth achievement award that challenges young people aged 13-24 to develop skills, overcome challenges, and build confidence through a variety of activities. It's a non-competitive, flexible programme offered at three progressive levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Participants engage in Volunteering, Physical and Skill activities, either individually or within a small group. They also join with others to complete an expedition. A Residential experience is added at Gold Award level.

Full support in the selection of activities and assisting students in the completion of their online eDofE accounts is included.

Participants have the choice to complete Physical and Skill section activities with the Hunt Scholars team, or they can find an activity independently or complete it at home. We can also set up bespoke activities as required.

The Volunteering section provides our young people with opportunities to engage with their communities, and can fit very well alongside some work experience placements. For many young people, this can be their first experience of dealing with the public or being in a workplace environment. We work with participants to source an appropriate choice of Volunteering activity that will provide them with transferable skills for their future goals.

The Expedition section provides young people with an opportunity to gain confidence and learn valuable skills in working with others collaboratively. It also allows young people to develop leadership skills and personal strengths outside of an academic environment. Comprehensive and appropriate training in teamworking, navigation and route planning will be given by qualified instructors.
